The ABC Television show ‘Lost’ which aired from 2004 until 2010, was almost exclusively filmed on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu. The location was chosen for the the wide diversity the Island offers. Seventy five percent of the Hawaii’s population is located on Oahu, with the state capital Honolulu located on the Island as well. Some of the beaches from the Island that were predominately featured on ‘Lost’ were, Hanauma Bay and Kaneohe Bay and Waimea Bay.
On the season 1, 5th episode, some of the locations that were used were, the Sydney Airport was actually the Hawaii Convention Center. The ‘crash beach’ scene in that episode was actually filmed at Mokule’ia Beach. Some locations from season 2, were ‘Charile’s apartment’ in episode 12, were filmed at the ‘Old Honolulu Brewing and Malting Company Building. The ‘Island Survivors Camp’ in that same episode were filmed at Pap’iloa Beach. Some locations from the 3rd season, and episode 4 were: The prison scene was filmed at Halawa Correctional facility.
In the scene in that same episode where Ben shows Saywer the main Island, was filmed at Makapu’u Coastline. Another beautiful location from that episode were the Hydra Bear Cages, were filmed at Manoa Valley (Paradise Park). Season 4, episode 11 showcases ‘Locke’s High school’, that was actually filmed at Leileua High School in, Wahiawa, HI. In Season 5, episode 4, in the scene where Ben brings Ocean 6 together, that was actually filmed at Ala Wai Harbor Yacht Club. All of the Lighthouse scenes in season 6, were filmed at the Makapuu Lighthouse Trail.
Some beautiful locations from the final season of Lost were episode 15, the ‘Mother’s Garden’ scene was actually Nuuanu Pali Dr. Banyan. The ‘mother helps Jacob scene was ‘Judd Trail Stream’. Waimanalo Beach was also featured in that episode.
