Film makers come from all over the world to shoot in paradise. Hundreds of movies have been shot in this tropical paradise.
Some of my favorite films growing up were shot in Oahu. Movie buffs into history and war films will enjoy these classics, “From Here to Eternity’ and the classic film “Tora, Tora, Tora’.
For the romantic, you have to love what Adam Sandler has done in the islands. Sandler has made a couple of movies in Hawaii. Most recently, Sandler traveled to Maui in 2010 to make a romantic comedy with Jennifer Aniston called “Just Go With it.’ The primary location for the film was the posh resort at the Grand Wailea Resort. Sandler had also shot the movie “Fifty First Dates’ (2003) with Drew Barrymore in different locations in Oahu.
Finally, Action films have a long history of using Kauai for its tropical looking jungles. Steven Spielberg brought the action movie genre to the islands with “Jurassic Park”, and his “Raider of the Lost Ark”. The movies “Avatar” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. ” are two recent films shot in the islands.
Hawaii has a good thing going and no doubt the word, “Action” will be heard again very soon.
